A Feast for Odin

A Feast for Odin Command a Viking band and create your own saga in this epic game. From the Land of Ice and Snow In this epic game, command a band of Vikings to trade, hunt, raid, pillage, and plunder in search of wealth and glory for your tribe. A Feast for Odin is a saga in the form of a board game, from acclaimed designer Uwe Rosenberg. In this strategic worker placement game for one to four players, you will experience the Viking way of life. Each player explores new territories—and raids the villages they find there—to increase their wealth and glory, while also taking part in day-to-day activities such as gathering food to feed their band of hungry Vikings. In the end, the player whose possessions carry the greatest value is the winner. The Viking Way Delve into the land of Vikings as you determine which tasks your band will perform. Send some of your Vikings to produce goods such as wool, spices, and silver, then send others to trade these goods for more valuable resources. Or send a ship to explore new lands, adding more boards—and even more options—to your home board. Your goal is to fill your home board with a horde of goods collected from the activities chosen. The goods tiles come in different sizes, however, so make sure you can find room for them on your board. By placing tiles strategically, you can cover spaces that reduce your final score and raise your income to increase your wealth.
It Takes a Village The heartiest Viking can’t perform raids or produce goods on an empty stomach. You'll want to make sure they have enough food for their feast at the end of each round. From simple beans to hearty plates of meat, your Vikings must be well-fed or you must take a penalty. In A Feast for Odin, you must strike a balance between accumulating wealth through raids and providing for your tribe's basic necessities. The Viking chieftain who can best maintain this balance will emerge victorious.

Bad Medicine

In Bad Medicine, you and your opponents are huge pharmaceutical companies. Your goal is to create names and advertisements for new drugs to cure the current Malady, while downplaying any side effects the folks at the lab may have discovered. Did we mention your company is huge? It's huge enough that the people who formulate the drugs and the people who pitch the drugs don't really talk to each other, so don't be surprised when the person pitching your company's drug is just as surprised as everyone else when she sees what it actually does... Each card in the game has a little bit of a drug name, a little bit of a description, and a side effect. There will be one card dealt in the middle of the table; its side effect is the malady to cure this round. In a 3-4 player game, each player gets seven cards, and chooses three cards for their drug names and two cards for their descriptions. Once everyone has chosen their cards, everyone pitches their drug in turn. While one player is making his pitch, the other players pass a card to the pitching player. The pitching player chooses one card to incorporate into his pitch as a side effect, and explain why it's not as bad as it sounds. The player whose side effect got chosen gets a point! In a 5-8 player game, players split off into teams. One player on a team gets six cards, and chooses three cards for their drug names, two cards for their descriptions, and one card for its side effect. He passes them all face-down to his teammate, who won't see the cards until she starts her pitch! After all players have made their pitches, everyone votes on their favorite drug. Players score points for getting votes, and teams rotate every turn. The player with the most points after four rounds wins!

Bastion

Enemy forces are at the gates! Mount the walls and prepare your defense in this cooperative strategy game Heed the Call The castle is under siege! Hordes of monsters surround the walls as they march against the citadel. Only a brave few can stand against this dire threat. Gather your wits and prepare your defense. Bastion is a cooperative strategy game for one to four players. Taking inspiration from extremely popular tower defense video games, Bastion subjects players to an unrelenting stream of attacks by an army of vicious monsters. By channeling the sources within the city’s districts, defense towers, and citadel, players work together to defend its borders, all the while gaining useful spells from the enemies they defeat. Only by properly managing their mana, spells, and rituals will they have any hope of withstanding the onslaught. Defend the City In Bastion, you and your friends are the city’s last hope. Only you can stem the tide of the invading hordes. The tension constantly mounts during each game as a new card is drawn from the enemy deck and advances along the city walls after every player’s turn. You must clear them all from the walls by spending mana tokens if you hope to stem the tide. Players win or lose together, so make sure to coordinate your actions before the city is overrun. It will take a careful balance between channeling mana, moving throughout the city, and defeating enemies to claim victory. Unleash Your Fury Staring down a horde of vicious monsters is intimidating for even the most experienced of heroes. Luckily for you, defeating enemies converts their life-force into powerful spells that can provide an advantage at critical moments. Reduce an enemy to dust with a powerful fireball spell or use the plenty spell to give yourself a quick influx of extra mana tokens. Determining the best time to use these spells is up to the you, of course, but waiting for perfect moment can turn the tide of battle in your favor. Make Your Stand Once you’ve mastered the introductory game, there are even more ways to play Bastion. More powerful enemies await those seeking even more of a challenge, including the fearsome Black Knight or the revolting Knellerwyrm. In turn, the heroes respond to this increased threat by harnessing the power of ancient rituals that make it easier to obtain mana of the color they need. On top of the extra monsters, Bastion also includes four unique scenarios that add special rules and more variety. Can you handle an enemy army made up of flying creatures? What would happen if you arrived at the city after the enemy forces? Each scenario demands new strategies and offers a unique spin on the Bastion experience. The enemy is at the gates. Byzanz

You are a merchant in Byzantium and you are trying to have the most profit from the markets inside the city. Bid for the best stock of goods and find the right moment to sell your collected wares.
And do not forget to go to the main market for a good deal! Players are merchants and bid on offers from the market to collect as many sets of 3 cards of the same good. Game ends when all cards have been auctioned and clayers with the highest total of good cards wins. Cards are both: money on your hand for bidding and points for scoring in each set sold. Goods cards and merchant cards are shuffled together and form the stack of goods to be auctioned. Depending on number of players offer cards from 1 to 6 are used (eg 4 players, cards 2,3,4,5) with the highest card on top. The highest offer card is used to draw that number of goods to make the actual offer on the table. Players start with 4 goods cards in their hand as money for bidding. Players bid in clockwise order increasing their bid at least by 1 - or they pass. Last player with a bid will win the total offer. The bidding cards (= good cards from the players hand) will be placed face up and sorted by kind into the market. Also one of the cards of the offer he won has to be paid as "tax" to the market also- players choice. Than he takes all the other cards of the offer into his hand and he also places the offer card of the actual bid in front of him. He is not allowed to bid again in this round. Game goes on with the next highest offer card giving the number of goods making the new offer. So each round each player win different a decreasing number of good cards. When all offers are gone the open market is usually filled with goods. Than the player with the lowest offer card - the same player who won the most less good cards - has free choice to take all cards of one kind from the goods in the market. Often this is a really great grab! Following rounds are played the same way until all goods have been auctioned. Players can also sell sets consisting of exactly 3 cards of the same good from their hands whenever they want. That is no real sale but players hold the highest card of each set for scoring. Merchant cards can be used as a joker - even two merchants are allowed in a set of 3 goods. Although merchant cards have a value of 0, a set of 3 merchants will score 5 points! 96 cards with 6 different goods (eg cloth, wine, spice)
- each good with values 1 (6x), 2 (5x,) 3 (3x), and 4 (2x)
16 merchant cards value 0 but replacing any card you want in a set
6 offer cards (from 1 to 6) showing the number of cards to be auctioned
2 market cards where to place cards spend for bidding and "tax" cards

Carcassonne

Develop the landscape of a medieval fortress city one tile at a time in this classic game. One Step at a Time Inspired by the medieval fortress in southern France of the same name, Carcassonne is a tile-laying game in which players fill in the countryside around the fortified city. Players choose from tiles that depict cities, roads, monasteries, and fields; each new tile placed creates an ever-expanding board on which players can then add their followers. Players score points by having followers on features as they're completed. The player who makes the most strategic placements of tiles and followers will score the most points and win the game. Jacks of All Trades Followers can take many different roles in Carcassonne—knights, monks, farmers, or thieves—determined by the type of tile on which they're placed. Each role scores points differently, so you'll need careful planning to make the best use of your followers. For example, thieves are placed on roads and score one point for every tile making up that road. On the other hand, monks are placed in cloisters and score nine points—one for each tile surrounding the monastery—when the last of those nine tiles is placed. You have a limited number of followers and, once placed, you don't get them back until the feature they're on is completed. You'll need to consider whether to go for quick scores of low points that leave you with more available followers, or work toward higher points that commit your followers long-term. Best Laid Plans As the map grows, so does the opportunity for players to disrupt each other’s plans. Everyone is adding to the same map and only one follower can be on any given feature at a time—so if you don’t place a follower on something, someone else probably will. Clever placement of tiles and followers can deny other players points—or even steal them away. Whether blocking a city's growth or connecting with your opponent’s road to share the points, Carcassonne provides plenty of ways to use your cunning and outsmart your opponents. Plan Your Way to Victory With its simple yet rich game mechanics and eighty-four tiles that can be configured into numerous combinations, Carcassonne appeals to beginners and veteran gamers alike. This edition is entirely redesigned and modernized, and includes two expansions: The River and The Abbot. Contents: Rule-book, 72 Land Tiles, 40 Meeples, 12 River Tiles, 5 Abbots & 1 Scoreboard. Ages: 7+ | Players: 2 - 5 |  Playtime: 35 minutes

Carcassonne : Amazonas

It’s a race down the Amazon in this tile-laying game inspired by Carcassonne. A Voyage of Discovery As you venture into the South American rainforest, river and jungle alike abound with colorful wildlife that create a spectacular panorama. But you have little time to appreciate the serenity of the moment: Others are heading into the wilderness to build camps and explore down the river. The race is on! Carcassonne: Amazonas sends you on a journey down the Amazon as you fill in the river and surrounding areas, one tile at a time. Along the way, discover many wonderful secrets deep in the rainforest. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide whether you want to place your meeples or camps on the features you discover, or if you want to forge ahead of the competition and push farther down the river. Whoever amasses the most points on their journey will be declared the winner!
Flora & Fauna All sorts of things are waiting to be discovered in the jungle. On your journey, you’ll come across many animals, visit villages, and walk along the many tributaries of the Amazon River. Just like in Carcassonne, you have the option to place meeples on these features as you discover them and score points once they’re completed. But with Carcassonne: Amazonas, it takes more than just cunning tile placement to win—it’s also a race down the Amazon River itself. When a tile is added to the river, the player whose boat is farthest down the river scores points equal to the number of piranhas and caimans that appear on that tile. To become a legendary explorer, you'll need to strike the right balance between placing your meeples and camps and staying ahead of the competition! Carcassonne : Expansion 01 - Inns & Cathedrals

Incorporate humble inns and imposing cathedrals into your games with this Carcassonne expansion. Sweat Equity The Inns & Cathedrals expansion adds more ways to shape the Medieval countryside in the award-winning tile-laying game Carcassonne. Eighteen Land tiles feature two new buildings that open additional avenues to scoring points. Construct imposing cathedrals that increase your cities' value, or build humble inns along your roads to double the value of your thieves. But be careful! An incomplete feature that uses an inn or cathedral scores no points at the end of the game.  The Jolly Giant Clever follower placement is a hallmark of Carcassonne, and Inns & Cathedrals adds another layer to this with the large meeple follower type. Worth two normal followers, large meeples help you secure features and keep their points to yourself. On top of new gameplay twists, Inns & Cathedrals includes components for a sixth player to join in the fun, and Points tiles to help everyone keep score. If you complete a lap of the scoreboard, take a Points tile worth fifty points. If you make it around again, flip your Points tile to the side worth 100 points. At the end of the game, simply add this amount to the total of your meeple on the scoring track.   Contents: Rulebook, 8 Meeples, 1 Abbot, 18 Land Tiles, 6 Large Meeples, 6 50/100 Points Tiles

Carcassonne : Expansion 04 - The Tower

Build imposing structures that touch the sky in this Carcassonne expansion. Towering Above the Countryside In The Tower, the focus is on building up, not out. This expansion for the classic Carcassonne tile-laying game adds eighteen Land tiles, plus thirty tower floors that you can use to construct towers to spot your opponents’ followers. Gain new actions as your towers grow taller or deny your opponents these actions by placing a follower on top of a tower to finish it. If your tower grows tall enough, disrupt other players’ plans by capturing their followers and holding them for ransom! Prisoner Exchange The Tower gives players a direct, strategic method of interacting with other players. When placing a tile depicting a foundation, the player can place a tower floor on that tile or on any open tower on the board. The player can then capture any other player's follower on the board that is visible from the tower. Captured followers are only returned by paying three victory points or “exchanging” prisoners with someone holding one of your followers. The Tower also makes it easier to keep your play area in order. The Tile Tower accessory organizes your tiles from the base game and expansions, making everything easy to access as you play. Carcassonne : Expansion 05 - Abbey & Mayor

New pieces offer tremendous strategic flexibility in this Carcassonne expansion.Stake Your Claim With a new tile type and three new pieces, the Abbey & Mayor expansion for Carcassonne gives players more options than ever. Abbey tiles act as monasteries, but you can use them to plug holes in the board by filling spaces surrounded by tiles. Mayors help you control cities by using coats of arms to determine their strength. Outside the city walls, Barns synergize with farmers to enhance the value of fields they occupy, while wagons can be placed like followers but then moved from one feature to the next after scoring. Such a variety of tiles and pieces creates numerous opportunities to employ cunning strategies that can outwit opponents. Breaking New Ground Clever follower placement is a hallmark of Carcassonne. With the components in Abbey & Mayor, you can devise new ways to get the most out of each piece. A well-placed Mayor can override other players’ followers and even circumvent large meeples. Also, since the Mayor’s strength is equal to the number of coats of arms in their city, this increased strength also nets them the extra points those same coats of arms provide. You can also use wagons to swoop in and take over features before your opponents can get to them. While first placed like a normal follower, you can move a wagon immediately to an adjacent, uninhabited feature once the original placement is scored. Finally, Barns score any farmers in the field they’re placed in and bestow extra points at the end of the game. Played on their own with the base game or combined with other Carcassonne expansions, Abbey & Mayor provides plenty of new paths to victory. Contents: Rulebook, 12 Land Tiles, 6 Abbey Tiles, 6 Mayors, 6 Wagons, 6 Barns Ages: 7+ | Players: 2 - 6 |  Playtime: 45 minutes
