Action Phase Games

About Us @ 21.01.2017

Action Phase Games is a game design studio based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our first game, Heroes Wanted, was released in 2014.

Travis R. Chance is a project manager and game designer from Indianapolis, IN. Having just moved back to the Midwest from a decade in NYC, he has devoted all of his time and effort toward creating and designing games. Whether he is organizing a monthly board game meet up here in Indy, or playing games at his favorite haunts, his insight and passion for this hobby is beyond the pale. Heroes Wanted is his second board game – Infamy was his first.

Nick Little is a data analyst and game designer from Indianapolis with a degree in economics. He enjoys playing all kinds of strategic and tactical board games. Nick has played in five Magic: the Gathering Pro Tours. He made over $50,000 playing UDE’s Vs. System CCG. Before starting work on Heroes Wanted and The Stuff of Legend, Nick spent months helping with the development of another game, Infamy.

Chris Byer is a freelance illustrator and designer working in Indianapolis, IN. He is an avid gamer and hobbyist focusing on primarily on thematic games and miniatures while also actively supporting the local gaming community.

Brian Lee works full time for a printing company as their graphics and pre-press manager. He also teaches part-time at the Art Institute of Indianapolis, primarily as a Digital Imaging and Print Production instructor. He has been a graphic designer for nearly 20 years and possesses a wide array of design skills and knowledge. From a very young age, Brian began to develop his interest in game design and now has two successful Kickstarter projects under Warpunk Games.

Ryan Howe has been scribbling along for as long as he can remember. While ‘Heroes Wanted’ is his first major foray into gaming art, he’s worked on multiple comic book projects including ‘Gun Street Girl’, ‘Zombie Plague’, ‘Yva Starling: Troubleshooter’, and the recently released ‘Henchmen’ for Robot Paper.

Kira Anne Peavley has a background in large-scale media project management working with some of the largest brands in the country. Kira supports our marketing efforts, and you can expect to see her at our booth at conventions, as well as online managing our social media efforts. Originally from California, she has lived in many places across the country and has spent most of her life in Indiana. She loves sci-fi and video games, and now board games, too. She also enjoys spending time with her family and has recently become a crazy cat lady.

Brian Wyrick, for some reason always referred to as just "Wyrick," is a master of the shadows, always helping make sure things are working at APG and living just off camera in the shadows of technology. He is also a co-creator of the comic book Henchmen, and can be found at comic shows showcasing that book and others at his Robot Paper table.

Jessica McPherson was lucky enough to have met the APG team through her boyfriend, Chris Byer. She has a degree in Multimedia, and helps design the APG website. She is also the resident "booth babe" at the conventions. So if you bought your copy of the game from a busty butterfly, you're welcome.

Aeons End : Legacy

“You are not breach mages yet,” Brama lectures as she paces down the line of students, her frail form belying her immense power. “Breach mages have protected us since the beginning — since the burning of the world and our pilgrimage into the dark. It was they who founded Gravehold, our last bastion, and if you wish to stand beside these living legends, you must listen and learn. The Nameless shall come again, as they always have, and you will need to be ready. You are the hope of our future.” As a young apprentice, you grew up to stories of the breach mages. Brama, the teacher, wisest of the mages. Dezmodia, the prodigy, master of great magic. Mist, the stoic leader and tactical genius. Malastar, the magical craftsman. Rebellious, powerful, and reckless perfectly sum up Xaxos. These mages are your heroes and tomorrow, after your ordeal, you will join their ranks. “Each of you must overcome your ordeal to learn discipline and focus, the tools you will need to defend Gravehold. We are nothing without Gravehold. To be a breach mage is to sacrifice your life for Gravehold. When you die, it will be in defense of our city. Once you understand this universal truth...only then will you be ready to become a breach mage.” Ages: 14+ | Players: 1 - 4 |  Playtime: 60 minutes
